| Mississippi University for Women has the dubious distinction of being the only state university with two separate alumni associations, and both groups are now awaiting a judge's ruling to find out which will be sanctioned MUW's legally affiliated organization. This unusual duality of alums came about through a series of events which has pitted | MUW's 118-year-old Alumnae Association against President Claudia Limbert and a second alumni group she formed and endorsed as her "preferred" alumni group.
